Vikenti Komitski Vikenti Komitski was born in 1983 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2001 he graduated from the NationalyArtsSchool in Sofia and in 2006 from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia with a major in Sculpture. He won the BAZA award for a young artist in 2011 and the same year he was nominated for the prestigious Gaudenz B. Ruf Award for contemporary Bulgarian art. He has participated in numerous solo and group shows in Bulgaria and abroad such as: New Poor, ICA, Sofia (2013) and Go West!, Muzeon Art Park, Moscow, special project for Moscow Young Art Biennail. He has also been involved in several artist residencies in Prague, New York and Reykjavik. "I didn’t have a studio for a period of time and when a friend of mine went to Portugal for a few months, he lent me his at Rosenthaler Street 71 in Berlin. I wanted to spend as much time there as possible doing something. That is how I started collecting old albums from markets and antique stores and combining the found images into collages."
